Predict:
I predict this problem will use addition.

Read:
Five ballpoint cost as much as two fountain pens. How much are six fountain pens if one ballpoint pen cost $1?

Clarify:
There were no words I needed to clarify.

Big Question:
How much are six fountain pens if one ballpoint pen cost $1?

Mathematicians Toolbox:
The strategy I used was guess ,check and improve

Solve:
To solve this problem I used the picture provided which shows 5 ballpoint pens and two fountain pens. Under each ballpoint pen I drew ‘$1’ and as there were 5 the all cost $5, I then split $5 by 2 to get $2.50 for each fountain pen. To get my final answer I multiplied $2.50 by 6 as that was the big question. I got the answer $15

Summary:
My prediction was correct because I used addition.

As the sun came down i was running away from the boogy monster who is still chasing me and i have got even more tired than i was before. He is getting closer and closer and i am running out of fuel to keep running i look for a car to hijack but there’s no car in sight i turn around and the boogy monster has stoped to get a drink of powerade which has made him gigantic and now it is chasing me twice as fast and then i see a car i grab a rock and throw it at the window. i open the door and drive away.

Asia project Reflection

Make a list of important things you learnt:

During my Asia project on north Korea I’ve learnt lots of interesting facts such as.How members of the military can vote at any age . which i think is very important thing in north Korea because if your seventeen and you join the army you can vote. The actual age to vote is eighteen.

what can you do now that i couldn’t do before?

During my project i have improve on gathering information then putting it into the correct catorgories .some of the websites i use to use were not very useful information. but now i know i have found more reliable sites that help me get better information.

what or who helped me ?

During my north Korea project i needed to find information. I used the internet to find facts and to make it more detailed. The sites i used were encarta and Wikipedia got most of my information. both of these are were useful sites i would recommend these to everyone

Three facts

The population of North Korea is 24,000,000 approximetly.
Their the largest consumer of garlic in Asia.
members of the military can vote at any age.

Two understandings

It is a difficult country to live in.
There punishments are much worse than ours.

FORJIRIE

I was at the bank, head of security, everything was going smooth than a bunch of men in suits came in the leader of the group had a gun at his waist so I expected the rest to have guns. I was ready to make the arrest he went straight to the counter and took out money from an account that was probably not his cause he would probably not very rich. He didn’t put in a pin code he just left a signature on the counter he took the money off the counter and just left.

I followed him out to the boat that they were on it was massive bigger than some cruise ships. I got on a little canoe and followed the boat I got all way around to the back of the boat where there was a ladder. I climb up then ducked down straight away because there were security guards on patrol. I went straight to the main area on the boat and they were all in there talking. I crouch at the door and started listening to their convosation they were saying that they can’t believe that the bank fell for the signature that wasn’t even there’s.

I took a peep and saw big letters on the wall saying I was thinking about what it could stand for then it came to be completely stupid terrorists. I look up and saw that the American president was there it was he’s signature they gave to the bank. They took the president back to their cell. I followed them on the deck looking for a window that was open I found one and climb in. There were 10 presidents there I look at them all and was thinking of a way to get them out of their cells.

The guards were coming back I went back into the room I was in and hide. I heard the guard drop his keys and go back up stairs. I got out of the room grabbed the keys unlocked the doors got all the presidents out of their cells to climb out of there windows and escape on the canoe.

The light was so bright when was running away from the Boogy monster who had a gun with torch on top so it hurt your eyes when you turn around to see where he was. I kept running but he caught me and put the light in my eyes it blinded me and i couldn’t see anything i got put in a truck and i overheard him hes taking me to the cave. we arrive at the cave and i got my vision back i was hanging over a crocodile pit. He released and i fell all the way down but my assistant monkey swang in and grab me we sprinted out and blew up the cave.

The winter sport has been the best thing since sliced bread.

The winter sport has been the best thing since sliced bread because I am in soccer and I am the captain of soccer and that is really good. We are currently on a pretty big winning streak and are hoping to go through to the next division higher than what we are playing at now. We are doing than any other winter sports team at school because some of them haven’t won a game yet.

We are playing well and everyone knows where to go and what to do when we get on the field and play instead of not knowing what to do or how to do things, everyone knows what to do. Everyone is improving on their skills like dribbling, running with the ball, shooting, passing and much more things. So where doing really well.

We have being getting big wins like twelve kneel, four kneel, seven kneel and other big wins. We have had about five goal scorers and are trying to get a few more people to score in the games that we play. But it is harder than you think. Overall winter sports have being really good.

What is the genre? how did you know?

In the book Alex rider eagle strike the genre is action. I knew this because there is lots of action scenes.

What choice did a character have to make?

In the book rise of nine the characters had to make a choice to go to new mexico or go to some place in america.

Who tells the story? Is it the best person to tell? Why?

In the book going for broke the main character Nathan tells the story. Yes he is the best person to tell because there is lots of stunts and he does them so he is in the story a lot.

The mission for the night keeper is to catch the evil chicken this mission will be called mission X. We need to see where we last saw him at the airport stealing food. lets go night keeper and get this evil chicken who is terrorising the community and all civilization. They arrived at the airport and found the evil chicken stealing chocolate donuts the evil chicken looked straight at us and started running away. The night keeper started chasing the evil chicken and just miss the evil chicken because the evil chicken sneaked on the plane and got away.

The writing process can sometimes be dull, but mostly I make it exciting. By making my work exciting and exaggerating either important bits of my writing. Also adding exclamation marks and other exciting punctuation to my writing.

Writing takes a lot of time and creativity to write stories or other pieces of writing such as persuasive text, recount and many other topics. So if you’re waiting for a sequel to the next book it will take quite a while because the author has to get lots of ideas and get the book publish , edit and much more complicated things that we don’t know about. So if you wanted your book to be publish and get in the stores you would have to wait at least six months for it. So that annoys everyone in the world because you’re just waiting for the next book to come out and you wish that the author would hurry up and finish the book.

When you write a story it goes for a few pages but when the author writes a story it goes on forever so you can see why it takes so long to get the next book out in the stores because they have= to get everything edited, published and it has to be perfect grammar, punctuation and all the other things that they have to do to get it checked.

So writing is a difficult thing to do but if you know what you’re doing it is easy.

Big Question: How many litres of fuel are required to travel from Kogan to Tingura? Mathematicians Toolbox: The strategies from the mathematicians toolbox that I used were: Break the problem into smaller parts. Solve: To solve this problem I added 64km, 122km, 154km and 60km to get 400km. 100km equals 9 litres so i divided 400km by 10 and got 4km then i times 4 and 9 and got 36 litres as my answer. Solve:

I guessed 4 first and landed on a snake so i went down one to 3 and it worked. I then check 2 and1 but they took even longer goes so i picked 3 as my answer.

I got my prediction right because i used addition in this problem.
